Who are we?

George Balazs retired after 34 years heading the NOAA Marine Turtle Research Program in Honolulu, Hawai’i as well as 10 years with the Hawai’i Institute of Marine Biology at University of Hawai’i, and has been collecting sea turtle stamps for nearly as long. He is by no means retired from working with sea turtles and sea turtle people, however!

Nancy Linsley retired after 42 years as a Flight Attendant with United Airlines. She got hooked on collecting sea turtle stamps after finding her first one in México while helping on a project there.

Don was a long-time collector of all turtles on stamps, not just sea turtles. You can visit his very informative website entitled "A Worldwide List of Turtles and Tortoises on Stamps" here.
 

Nancy Linsley and Dr. Frank Wisskirchen, taken in 2002 in Frankfurt, Germany. Nancy hates this picture because she had been up for nearly 30 hours when it was taken!

Dr. Wisskirchen is the author of "Die Zähne der Schildkröten", a German-language catalog of all known turtle stamps with more than 1,500 full color illustrations. The catalog uses Michel numbers but has a table for looking up the corresponding Scott numbers.
